FROM INTERNET MESSAGE BOARD James Eiland
was born in Georgia and reared to the age of 12 when the family moved to Alabama. Here he was reared
to manhood, was educated in the Alabama schools and became a teacher. In due time he married Miss Sarah
Ann Savage. Ten children were born unto them.
The census information for James and Sarah for
1850, 60, 70 & 80 has some conflicting information.
Moved from Mississippi, Noxubee County, to
Robertson County, Texas in about 1878. They lived in the rural aras of Wootan Wells and Beck's Prairie,
between Bremond and Franklin, Texas. J. W. Massey may have built the Wootan Wells Hotel, a local hot
springs resort that was outside of Bremond, Texas. This information is from, Living Gospel Songs, an
