About Irene Caroline Caffey:
Married her first cousin. When he died in 1881, Irene was left to raise three sons and a daughter .
She took her children to Verbena to live at the home of her brother, Hugh William Caffey. Irene was
at one time a matron at Judson College, and her three sons were the first boys to attend this female
institution. Irene died July 14, 1900 and was buried in Verbena. Info from book, "Collirene"

About John Ashurst Caffey:
John became a dentist and lived in Lawrence, Massachusetts, where he died childless. He was described
