About Arelia Faye (Nubbie) Caffey:

Nubbie Christian, 81, passed away at the Arlington Memorial Hospital on January 1, 2005. Rev. Calvin Springer conducted the funeral service on Wednesday, January 5, at the Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Interment followed in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Pall bearers were Darwin Avrett, Clifford Caffey, Jason Chaney, Kevin Bradley, Michael Bradley and Dennis Early. Serving as honorary pall bearers were Rick Bradley, T. F. Gilliland and Joe Bill Rogers.

Nubbie was born on January 20, 1923 to Sanford Nicholas and Lucy Arelia (Eiland) Caffey, in the Tracy Community near Rockdale. She lived in the Rockdale until six years ago, when she moved to Arlington. On January 20, 1945, she married Vesper Silas Christian in Rockdale. She was a housewife and homemaker. Her husband, parents and siblings, J. D. Caffey, Garland Caffey and Lois Riley, all precede her in death.

Survivors include: son Byron Christian of Rockdale; daughters, Donna and Joe Bill Rogers of Rockdale and Marsha and Rick Bradley of Arlington; sister Snowdy Green of Austin; sister-in-law Iola Averitt of Rockdale; grandchildren Kimberly and Jason Chaney, Kevin and Heather Bradley, Melanie and Dennis Early and Michael Bradley, all of Arlington; great-grandchildren, Christian Bradley, Rachel Bradley, Jeremy Chaney and Hayden Earley.

She was a member of the Eastern Star in Rockdale, a loving mother and grandmother and loved keeping her yard as long as she was able.
