Eiland are planned for 10:00am Thursday, September 27, 2012 in the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Chapel.
Burial will follow in the Bushdale Cemetery near Rockdale with military honors. Pastor Jack Chelf will
officiate. Visitation, 6pm to 8pm Wednesday, September 26, 2012 in the funeral home in Rockdale.

Melvin
B. Eiland was born January 9, 1923 in Rockdale to Marcus and Lena (Menn) Eiland. He attended school
in the Gay Hill Community then in Rockdale. He was an Army veteran of World War II and honorable discharged
as a Corporal.
On October 12, 1953, he and Hallie Sicko were married in Cuero, Texas. They have
lived in Rockdale since 1954, and he was a member of First Baptist Church in Rockdale.
Melvin
passed away Monday morning, September 24, 2012 in the Cameron Nursing Center in Cameron, reaching the
age of 89. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Ruby Marie Gest Eiland, a brother,
Marcus Leander Eiland and two infant children, Beverly Jean and Gary Wayne Eiland.
Surviving
him; his wife, Hallie Eiland of Rockdale. Son, Melvin C. Eiland of Rockdale. Two daughters, Patricia
Marrs of Las Vegas, Nevada and Angela Eiland Tynes Bairfield of Rockdale. Brother, William "Bill" Eiland
of Milano. 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
