BARBARA JEAN PARCEL
Birth: Jun. 30, 1934
Death: Sep. 3, 2008

Barbara Jean Parcel left this world into the arms of our Loving Lord Wed. Sept. 3, 2008 after a lengthy illness. Barbara was born June 30, 1934 to Charles and Helen Eiland. After attending Taft Elementary she graduated from Taft Union High School in June 1952.

She was married to Gerald Parcel in Oct. 1950. This union created the joys of her life, her children Linda, Tim, Tom and Ted. Many wonderful years were spent at the Taft Little League Field and many summers camping in Tuolumne Meadows Yosemite. As the kids got older wonderful summers were then spent camping and skiing at Bass Lake.

Barbara worked over 30 years at R.F. Casey Collections buying the business in 1978 and subsequently closing and retiring in 1996. She was active through out her adult life in Soroptimist, The Moose Lodge and The Taft Sportsmen's Club, holding various offices.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Helen Eiland, brother John Eiland, and one of her wonderful joys her loving son Thomas, and two very special men in her life Dick Davis and Ron Descrochers. Barbara is survived by daughter Linda Starkey and husband Ron, son Tim and wife Kim, and son Ted and wife Barbara. Brother Jim Eiland and wife Lucille. Grandchildren Kristi, Brian, Ricky, Laticia, Melissa, Jocelyn, Zachary and Christa. 10 Great-Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and very special life long friend Diane Morris of Arkansas. We must not forget her loving companion BIFF.

Graveside Services will be held Wed. Sept. 10th @ 10:00 Westside Cemetery. Grandson Rev. Dr. Brian Parcel of the United Methodist Church of Santa Maria will officiate.
