BLACKWELL, Gregory Scott, Born in Montgomery, Al., on Jul. 29, 1968 Departed Apr. 8, 2010. Services for Gregory Scott Blackwell of Thomasville are at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 12, 2010 at First Baptist Church where he was a member. The Rev. Dan Spencer will officiate and interment will be in Oakfield Cemetery in Monticello, FL. Born July 29, 1968 in Montgomery, AL, he was the son of Arthur Douglas and Linda Eiland Blackwell of Prattville, AL who survive. On August 19, 1989 in Prattville, Al, he married Jamie Baker Blackwell who survives. Mr. Blackwell was a cost accountant for Cleaver Brooks. He received a BBA from Valdosta State. He worked with the TV Ministry at First Baptist Church. He loved his wife and children and taking them fishing. He also loved kayaking and was a member of the Florida Coastal Kayak Association. Other survivors include his son, James Baker Blackwell, daughter, Anna Catherine Blackwell of Thomasville, brother, Christopher Todd Blackwell (Jennifer Corley) of Cartersville, GA, sister-in-law Becky Baker Harp of Monticello, FL, grandmother Martha Kirkland Eiland of Montgomery, Al., nephews, James Thomas Harp, Christopher Lane Blackwell, Jeffrey Luke Blackwell, Michael Levi Blackwell, and many aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces. Memorials may be made to The First Baptist Church TV Camera Fund, P. O. Box 2790, Thomasville, GA 31799. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home chapel from 2-4:00PM on Sunday.
