WELLINGTON - Maricarol Popwell, 68, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Monte Kreis, pastor of First United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Harry Stallings, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in North Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mrs. Popwell was born Sept. 16, 1933, in Wellington. She married Leo Popwell on June 18, 1950, in Amarillo.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Eddie Popwell of Wellington; three daughters, June Clay of Shamrock, and Rose Mary Throne and Peggy Allred, both of Wellington; a brother, Clarence Black of Wellington; a sister, Dorothy Green of Hollis; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to American Cancer Society or Wellington Cemetery Association.
