About Fannie Marie Cone:
Rockdale Reporter, Thur., 26 Sept 2002 Funeral services for Marie Dyer, 89, were held Monday,
Sept. 23, 2002 at 10 a.m. at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. Ronnie Dyer officiating.
Burial followed in the Minerva Cemetery. She died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002 at the Manor Oaks Nursing
Home in Rockdale.
Mrs. Dyer, a Rockdale area resident all her life, was born July 11, 1913 in
Milam County to Ryan G. Cone and Winnie Elizabeth Dyer. She and Boyce Wilburn Dyer (deceased) were married
Nov. 19, 1934 at the First Baptist Church in Cameron. Mrs. Dyer, a housewife, was an active member
of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, teaching Sunday School and participating in various other church ministries.
She was a 1932 graduate of Rockdale High School and loved to sing and all things with nature and enjoyed
visiting with her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Aug. 21, 1961; infant
son, Raymond Dyer; infant granddaughter, Kimberly Dyer; brothers, William Thomas Cone, Bernard Ray Cone
and Henry F. Cone. Surviving are: Son, Wilburn Dyer and wife Carol of Rockdale; daughter, Shirley Caffey
and husband Wayne of Rockdale; four brothers, Willard Cone of Minerva, Roger B. Cone of Temple, Conway
Cone of Minerva and Emmitt Lee Cone of Waco; sister, Lucille Sutton of LaBelle, FL; five grandchildren,
Bradley Dyer, Jaime Dyer, Pattie Schneebeli, Tammy Cass and Billy Caffey; five great-grandchildren,
Matthew and Nathan Cass, Jessica and Amanda Schneebeli and Joshua Caffey. Pallbearers were Billy Caffey,
Bradley Dyer, Mark Cass, Earl Wayne Schneebeli, Gary Cone and Roger Dale Cone. Honorary pallbearers
were David Betchan, Matthew Cass, Nathan Cass and Joshua Caffey
