Services held 3/3 (Sunday) in the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home. Burial in Salty Cemetery. Rev Bill
Fulton of Trinity United Methodist Church, Thorndale, officiated. He was born 11/6/1911 in Salty Comm
to M/M Clarence Jackson. He was raised in the Salty Comm and resided a number of years in Port Arthur
before moving back to Salty in 1975. Retired in 1975 after a 35-year career with Neches Butaine where
he was a process operator. Married Juanita Moye on 6/8/1940 in Port Arthur. Member of Trinity United
Methodist Church of Thorndale. Preceded in death by his parents and also by his step-mother, Bamma
Jackson on1/14/1955. Survivors: Wife, Juanita Jackson, of Salty; 3 sons, Carlton, Jr of Salty, Reagan
of Georgetown and Lynn Jackson of Southlake; brother Ervin Jackson of Jasper; 2 sisters, Ruby McClain
of Sacramento, Ca and Carol Stubbs of Del Valle; 4 grandchildren, Kerstin Lofton, April Jackson, Daniel
Jackson and Stephen Jackson; great-grandchild, Jacob Lofton
About Carlton Jackson Jr:
June 20, 1942 ? March 13, 2006 Carlton ?Sonny? Jackson, Jr. passed away on Monday, March 13, 2006,
in the Wesleyan Nursing Home in Georgetown, Texas. He was a member of the Salty Community and was 63
years of age. Sonny was born on June 20, 1942 in Port Arthur, Texas to Carlton Jackson and Juanita
Moye Jackson. He worked for the Salvation Army in Port Arthur after graduating from Thomas Jefferson
High School, also in Port Arthur.
Sonny was preceded in death by his father and is survived by
his mother; brothers Reagan Jackson and wife, Claire, of Gerogetown, Lynn Jackson and wife, Becky, of
Denton; nieces and nephews Kerstin Garbs of Caldwell, April Barnes of Denver, Co, Daniel Jackson of
Grandbury and Stephen Jackson of Denton; grand-nieces Isabel Barnes of Denver, Co and Sarah Jackson
of Denton. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at Phillips and Luckey Funeral
Home in Rockdale at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Salty Cemetery near Rockdale. Pall Bearers will
be Jacob Loftin, Will Barnes, Greg Garbs, Stephen Jackson, Douglas Caffey and John Fisher.
