EILAND Betty Jane (Hargrow) Eiland, age 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at The Ohio State University Medical Center's Ross Heart Hospital. A retired employee of National City Bank and a member of Trinity Baptist Church for over 60 years, serving in several ministries. In addition, she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Preceded in death by parents Irene and Albert Hargrow, brothers Sylvester and Charles Hargrow, and loving husband of over 50 years, Mr. Chester Lee Eiland, Sr.
Survived by sons Chester Lee (Deborah) Eiland, Jr. of Alexandria, VA and Michael Eugene (Deborah) Eiland; daughter, Karen Ann Jacobs; sister, Mrs. Charlotte Anderson; sister-in-law, Mary Eiland; ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; special friend, Mrs. Zelma K. Moss of Columbus; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives with special acknowledgement to nephews, Sylvester Hargrow, Jr. and William Hargrow, Sr.; her special neighborhood family, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Lumpkin, Mrs. Renda Crews, Mrs. Eleanor Ridley and family, and Mrs. Shirley J. Buttrum.
Homegoing Celebration 10 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Trinity Baptist Church, 461 St. Clair Avenue, where the family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the start of service. Rev. Dr. Victor M. Davis, officiating. Interment Green Lawn Cemetery. Services entrusted to DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long Street.
