About Jack Hayden Murdock:

Jack Hayden Murdock, 80, of Raleigh, N.C., formerly of Big Spring, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh, N.C. A Texas native, he attended Texas A&M University and was a graduate of the University of Texas at the Permian Basin. Mr. Murdock was a veteran of World War II and retired from Webb Air Force Base.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary M. McCaffrey and her husband, Doug and a son, Jeff Murdock and his wife, Diane, all of Raleigh, N.C.; sisters-in-law Elizabeth Murdock of Fort Worth and Mamie Lee Merrick and her husband, Bob, of Ackerly; grandchildren Brian Hood, Jack Murdock, Kate Murdock and Connor McCaffrey. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Margaret Brown Murdock and a brother, C.A. Murdock.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner, N.C. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 625 New Bern Ave., Raleigh, N.C. 27601.
