About Herbert Neal Caywood:
CAYWOOD, H. N. "Spud" of Rockdale. Age 74. Died 12/19/1988 (Monday) in a Temple Hospital. Services held
(Thursday) 12/22 in the Phillips & Luckey Chapel in Rockdale. Burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale.
Rev. Charles Cox officiated. He was BORN 3/20/1914. Married Eutha Jackson on 12/31/1938 in Rockdale.
He was constable for Precinct 4 (Rockdale-Thorndale area) for 16 yrs. Owned a gun shop in Rockdale for
20 yrs. and was a lifelong resident of Rockdale. He was past-president of Rockdale Lions Club, member
of First Christian Church of Rockdale, district director of Babe Ruth Baseball and was active in many
civic organizations. SURVIVORS: Wife, Eutha Caywood, Rockdale; son, Jerry Caywood of Wexford, PA.; daughter,
Mrs. Shirley Bailey of Rockdale; brother, Hubert Caywood of Minerva; 4 sisters, Mrs. Bertha Williams,
Mrs. Lillie B. Doss, Miss Ella Caywood, all of Rockdale and Mrs. Iva Mae Laurence of Beaukiss; 5 grandchildren.
