Paul Fille, on a visit to our house on 23 June 2001, told us that they were married
on 31 Dec 1946 in a civil ceremony and that no one knew anything about it
until the girls were 17 or so and they had to tell them.
Dan and Margaret never knew about it. They were married early while he was
still in the Army and could get an extra $40 a month married pay.
He said the bonus was more than his normal monthly salary.
Then they had a second ceremony for the family with a second license and everything.

Ludington woman in critical condition after being struck by car Wednesday night (8/29/2018)
Aug 30, 2018 Updated 1 hr ago  Ludington Daily News Online
A 66-year-old Ludington woman is in critical condition after being struck by a car Wednesday night
at the intersection of Ludington Avenue and Jackson Boulevard, according to Ludington Police Chief Mark Barnett.

The Ludington Police Department received the call at 9:27 p.m. Wednesday where a Subaru car
was in the lefthand westbound lane of Ludington Avenue along with the victim lying in the street,
Barnett said in a press release. Officers rendered first aid with members of the Ludington Fire Department.
Life EMS responded and transported the victim initially to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital
and then to Mercy Health Hackley Campus in Muskegon.

Deputies from the Mason County Sheriffs Office assisted Ludingtons police in the crash investigation.
Barnett said that based on the evidence at the scene, and a number of witness statements,
it was determined that the driver of the Subaru entered the intersection on a green light.
The victim was struck on the west side of the intersection as she was crossing to the north side of Ludington Avenue.

Barnett said the preliminary investigation does not indicate speed, alcohol or drug use
by the driver played a part in the accident. Further testing is being conducted to confirm that.

The Muskegon County Medical Examiner's Office notified the Ludington Police Department
