Richard Alvin "Allie" Saxton
(1875-1967)

Richard Alvin Saxton was born 26 June 1875 in Union City, Jackson Township, Darke Co., Ohio. He was the oldest child of William Alvin (Henderson) Saxton and Catherine Ann Coppess. He married Laura Mae Brovont on 4 July 1895 in Lansing, Michigan. They moved to Eden Township, Mason Co., Michigan shortly after that and lived the rest of their lives there. He was a self-taught carpenter by trade, built approximately 60 barns in Mason Co. His wife was born 3 December 1876 in Spencer Township, Medina Co., Ohio the oldest child of Daniel Brovont and Emma Bottorff. She died 19 April 1961 in Ludington, Mason Co., Michigan. He died 2 November 1967 in Ypsilanti, Washtenaw Co., Michigan. They had five children.
