Gay Dinner Honors Silver Anniversay of Byron Conklins
Mr. and Mrs. Byron Conklin entertained with a dinner party Saturday might at their home,
206 Third street, in celebration of their silver wedding anniversary.
A three-course dinner was served at 7 o'clock by Misses Evelyn Haberrichter and Leona Conklin.
Decorations were carried out in silver and green.
A gorgeous bouquet of mixed flowers made an attractive centerpiece for the table,
flanked on either side by green tapers in green candle holders, tied with silver ribbon.
Silver and white nut baskets were favors.
The archway between the living and dining room was arranged with festoons of silver and green
crepe paper and streamers of these colors were extended from the chandelier
in the dining room to corners of the room.
A mock wedding with Mr. and Mrs. Conklin as the bride and bridegroom;
William Saxton, the minister; Nondes Leedy wedding mother; Elmer McKenzie, flower girl,
and Mrs. William Saxton, pianist for the wedding march, featured the
entertainment with a charivari creating much amusement.
Mr. and Mrs. Conklin were presented with many neautiful gifts of silver and linen.
Miss Minerva Saxton and Byron Conklin were married at Grand Rapids in 1907 and after a
year's residence there, came to Ludington, where they have since made their home.
Guests at the affair included Mr. and Mrs. William Saxton, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Allie Saxton,
Mr. and Mrs. John Reinoehl, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer McKenzie, Mr. and Mrs. William Saxton, Jr.,
Mr. and Mrs. John Quinn, Orvan Saxton, Nondes Leedy, Edwin J. Moline, Edwin L. Moline,
