Times Democrat July 1, 1911 - Oct. 31, 1911. Was Soldier in Civil War Thomas
Hufnagle Died at Midnight Last Night at His Home Had Been Ill Several Weeks
Funeral Service Will Take Place Monday at Late Residence.
Thomas Jefferson Hufnagle, one of the older residents of the city, died at twelve
o'clock, last night after a three weeks serious illness. The deceased had been in ill
health for some time and death seemed due more
to general debility than any specific trouble.
Mr. Hufnagle was born November 22, 1832, in Wythe county, Virginia, and was
the son of George Hufnagle. He and his family have been residing at 516 1/2 south
Main street where he died. He was a veteran of the Civil war, and a member of
Mart Armstrong Post. He served in the sixties in Company F, 94th I. V. I. and was
discharged at the end of the war.    Arrangements have been made to hold the
funeral services Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the late residence, and the
services will be conducted by Rev. J. A. Bethards, while the Mart Armstrong Post
will probably have a part in the service. Interment will be in Woodlawn.
The surviving family includes the wife and children as follows: Richard C., Lima;
George A., Arizona; Thomas J., Mrs. Milton Maszey, Mrs. Lula Montgomery,
all of Lima.
