Richard Duane Saxton, 90, died and went to be with the Lord
Sept. 14, 2017,
at Sheldon Meadows, Hudsonville, Michigan.
He was born Jan. 30, 1927 to Richard O. and Jessie Mae (Cable)
Saxton of Custer.
He graduated from Custer High School and served in U.S. Navy
from 1944 to 1946 aboard Battleship New Jersey.
He married Nancy Sue Morton in 1950, and later married Elaine
M. (Luskin) Nordine in 1971.
Richard worked for Briggs Hardware, Dow Chemical and Consumers
Power.
He then worked independently as major appliance repairman.
He served on fire departments in Whitehall (as assistant
chief), and Hamlin Township.
He enjoyed building all things mechanical.
He retired to New Port Richey, Florida, until 2014 when he had
a stroke and came back to Hudsonville.
He was preceded in death by both wives, his parents, and
daughter Delyn Marie Saxton.

He is survived by one son Dr. Duane Saxton, of Zeeland, MI.
He is survived by step children, Marcia (George) Houk of
Ludington,MI, Karen (Mark) Schoenherr of Tomahawk, WI,
and Weldon (Barb) Nordine of Petoskey, MI.
He is predeceased by both wives, his parents, and daughter
Delyn Marie Saxton.
Richard worked for Briggs Hardware, Dow Chemical, Consumers

Delyn Saxton
Delyn Saxton, age, 50, died unexpectedly in her home in Grand
Rapids.
She graduated from Ludington High School and employed as a
forklift repairperson for 20 years.
She was the daughter of Richard Saxton of New Port Richey,
Fla. and Nancy Morton (deceased).
She is survived by her father and her brother, Duane Saxton,
M.D. of Zeeland, Mich.,
an uncle and aunt, Nevin and Lucy Morton of Scottville,
cousins, a niece and nephew.
Services are scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 5 at Barto
Funeral Home, Grand Rapids.
