Limestone County., Alabama...Lucy George, the firstborn of Hardin and Angeline, was born in March 6 1828 Limestone County.,Alabama.

Magazine Precinct,Yell Co. Arkansas, leadersin the Mount George church of Christ..Lucy was my grandfather Jack Walker's grandmother ...this is signed by Myra Nicla...Lucy George, the firstborn of Hardinand Angeline, was born in 1828. In her later years she was given the name "Aunt Puss," . She was 5' in her barefeet small and thin, with inquisitive...peering eyes..she had six children, that loved and cherished her, one being her grandson... my grandfather. Jack Walker.. real name Aulder Cornellius Walker. who left Centerville Yell County, Arkansas, started three Insurance companies.. SethWalker his brother lived there till he died ,Seth a grandsons of Lucy died of cancer and was buried in Mount George, I recollection all the stories that thefamily told, of manufacturing her own..soap in a huge black raw iron pot in back of the home place in Centerville, Arkansas. I can see in my mind’s eye..Delia J. Walker and grandmother and Ruie Virginia Walker and Linnie Lou Moudy making.. coffee and--red-eye gravy on thier old iron stove still using wood to firethe heat.. .. Seth was interviewed before his death his.. conversation was about the good times and bad..the story of how his family and ancestors hid Myra Belle Starr from the law..in the Magazine Precinct,Yell Co. Arkansas, Myra feltshe and her family had been wronged. How he and Linnie fought to make ends meet, their son Seth Kenneth Walker, made it harder, with his vacillating life, andmood swings, his death crushed his heart,,, the rest of the family lived closeand all shared their life, pain and joy..children Ann Lou Walker, Nelda Sue Walker, Jack Lee Walker, and Seth Kenneth Walker. Jack Lee Walker, was the worker and wanted more out of life..he was alot like Jack Walker, our grandfather...Seth said that after the Civil War, his family lost everything and they had slaves on the Walker side.. The Walkers some fought for the North and the Georgeside were soldiers for the North..The Walkers were spilt on this subject. My grandfather Jack Walker showed me the graves behind his father's home Cornelius Avington Walker, and mother..Lydia Ann Miller a school teacher, now belonging to Seth and his wife Linnie Lou Moudy.. graves of slaves...Jack and Seth talkedabout his mother Lydia Ann Miller, he said she was severe, and not has lovingparent as he longed for..., Jack remembered his nomadic existence, roaming, the streets at night, he was only 6 years old, looking for food. Jack cold, barefooted in the winder cold with his dirty face, aganist the warm window glass, watching the Benifields sat down for dinner, hearing the laughter of the twinsplaying, and the mother smiling, kissing each child.. Jack was not just hungaryfor food but needing love, and hope,, playing with the dogs, and watching thesunset, all he dreamed of was having a worthy life, a customary life of a truefamily, sitting at the table, with warm food..made from God's good earth and the sweet hands of a affectionate mother.... Jack even when he made it in life..He thought having money, would make all his pain go away.. and ease his chaosand vacillating, spirit... His mother use to talk about the times and stories.. that her mother told that would be (Lucy), she would take all the family and the children to worship, at the services, in Magazine Precinct,Yell Co. Arkansas, they were..Campbellites, Christ Of Christ, leaders in the Mount George church of Christ, in a small wooden frame, church building, and she would, proudly sat and arranged her and her brothers and sisters on grandmother's homemade, quilts behind the pews, rain or shine they were there.... Alfred Oliver Benoit

From taped interview with Lucile Benoit Sprague, November 1994.
"He was a carpenter, [and eventually an alcoholic] who was oftenaway for long periods. When he was home, he was the 'master' and hisword was law, but he was not really 'a part of the family' and I nevermissed him, nor was I aware of the time he went away and didn't comeback."
She thought they were having a wonderful time. She and her brotherand sisters were very compatible, Edward, the eldest, was a fine person, and her mother (Edgive) was lots of fun, even when she was walking themall a mile and a half to mass every morning.

Edgive Josephine Gagnon

Gagnon Document G4 gives her birthdate as July 11, 1870. Is itpossible her parents were living together as man and wife in 1869, buthad to wait for a visiting priest to marry them?

Bernard Hoffman, her grandson, writes: "Edgive Gagnon Benoit wastruly a remarkable woman. Her life spanned eras from the covered wagon totranscontinental airplanes, from kerosene lamps to nuclear energy andfrom a time when it was not uncommon for young Edgive to notice an Indianpeering into their windows, to finishing out her years in a comfortablehome in Kansas City's Country Club district. She survived scorchingsummers and droughts, long cold winters, grasshopper plagues when theyate the clothes right off the clotheslines, and epidemics which, tragically, took the lives of three of her nine children in their earlyyears. It is difficult for us who live in today's hi-tech,air-conditioned, miracle-medicine, comfort-oriented society to invisionthe hardships, the sickness, the endless toil which this woman, and allother frontier wives endured scarcely a century ago.
"Her earliest remembrance was of her father, Francois "Frank"Gagnon, a badly wounded Union Army veteran of the Civil War, and hisstruggle to farm and earn a living for his family. The wound weakenedhis life, and he only lived until 1880 when he died at 38 years of age.
"The small community of St. Joseph was made up entirely of Catholic,French-Canadian immigrants who found themselves to be without a parishpriest. After their request a priest arrived from France by the name ofFather Mollier. This man was quite poor, and there was no place for himto stay, so Edgive's parents, Francois and Henriette Lanoue Gagnon, offered him a spare room in their home while the men of the parish builta rectory. She also remembered that her mother, noticed that Fr.Mollier's trousers were threadbare. She then fashioned for him a newpair of pants.
"She never mentioned anything about school, so she was probablyhome-schooled. At any rate, they had endless chores to be done, likeplanting a vegetable garden and taking care of it.
"One day of the week was wash day, which was done outside, providedthe weather cooperated. They had to make their own laundry soap with lye.
"Edgive told of the sheep-shaving of wool that had to be sewn intoclothing and blankets, of washing, ironing with all the attendant heavylifting, of cooking huge meals whenever the thrashers would come aroundto harvest. She told me that once during an epidemic, she stayed uptending the sick, washing and changing the bedclothes, for six days andnights without a wink of sleep! And she told me that once when a birth ofa child came sooner than expected, she found herself alone. She said thatshe prayed fervently, and, as best as she could, delivered the babyherself--and the baby lived. . . .
"All of us who are the progeny of this kindly, saintly, patient, loving woman owe her a huge debt of gratitude. 'Mema' treasured herCatholic faith to the fullest, attended daily mass for decades and saw toit that the moral, religious, and philosophical values of that faith weredeeply instilled in all those entrusted to her care. Often we hear peoplesay they want 'to leave this world better than they found it.' Withoutrealizing it, without fanfare, Edgive Gagnon Benoit was a perfect exampleof what that means."

James I Stewart King of Scotland

Alias:<ALIA> The Black Knight of /Lorn/
Taken prisoner by the English on a voyage from Scotland to France, and
held prisoner for 18 years in England. Hisreturn to Scotland in 1423
resulted in some turbulence involving the execution of various powerful
nobles as James confirmed his power. He was crowned atScone in 1425.
Murdered while staying at Blackfriars Monastery in Perth bySir Robert
Graham as a result of a conspiracy led by the Earl of Atholl.
When King James I of Scotland married Joan Beaufort, he was a prisoner of
King Henry V of England. A king without a throne cannot be too choosy
and certainly cannot make foreign alliances which could be potentially
threatening to hiscaptor. Joan Beaufort was related to Henry V through
the Beaufort family who were much favored by him, and this was also said
to be a love match.
