Henry S. Mundy
Henry S. Mundy

Henry S.'s headstone has been found in the Fowler Mundy Cemetery, in Perry township of Indianapolis, Indiana. The stone has been broken, and the top half has been leaned up against the back of the bottom half. If you were standing in front of it, you would have to look on both sides to see the complete stone. View it at the bottom of this page. Also with it you will find the headstone of Henry's granddaughter, Margaret Mundy.

Little documentation of other kinds has been found on Henry S. Mundy at this point, mainly items saying that he was there at a given time.

In 1838 he probated his brother John's estate, and became guardian to John's five children, Marion County, Indiana.

In 1840 he probated his father Henry's estate in Marion County, Indiana.

We find Henry S. in the 1850 census in the Perry Township, Marion County, Indiana dwelling #42 enumerated on 17 Oct 1850. The listed head of house was John Brumfield, husband of Cynthia, niece of Henry S. (Henry S. raised his brother John's family after John's death.)

This photo is the headstone of Margaret Mundy, granddaughter of Henry S, and daughter of Henry Green and Lydia Mundy. It is located in the same cemetery.
