I. John Carmichael, b. Scotland, d. 1808, 1st settled in Allegheny Co., PA, where he m. & res. until ca. 1797, when he came to Mercer Co., PA. In 1802 was in Worth Twp., Mercer Co., PA, fought under Wolfe in Battle of Quebec 9/1759, and was third man to climb the Heights of Abraham.
