Dear Brother;
At the beginning of my letter I am heartily greeting you and telling you that we are all living except for dad and that we enjoy our good health. My dear brother for the second time I am trying to write you a letter to find out if you are still alive. Many years have passed since and we have not heard from each other. I have tried, but the letter I sent you was returned. Mother is old but she is still earning for living. It is a little difficult to exist and we are going through hard times since the beginning of the war and still after the war. Mother is longing for you. You know you were her first child and you have been for so many years already away in this far away land.
Since the year 1912 we have not received any news from you. Should I be lucky with letter, I will always write you if only I had the right address.
The family Holtz is all dead already. Only the children of Franz, Eduard and Ferdinand and the Franzi. I am now in Vienna and am already married. Mother is with the youngest brother, not Gottlieb from the country. So dear brother, should you receive this letter, please be so good to write me back. I am waiting with longing. I greet you, your faithful brother.
Albert Zwulick and your Mother, Barbara Zwulick, former Barbara Kaiser. Write soon and don't forget your mother.
