� past Eleven am 13th Sept 1862 Moreton Bay On going on board this morning I found that the ships boat had been taken from the ship in the evening of the 13th. At 11 o'clock this morning Mr Harvey came on board with her and was drunk. On being told to go Below he told the Captain that he would see him Damned first and used most abusive language to him. On being asked what he had to say he said I might do my damnedest.

30th Oct 1862 Sydney Thomas Campion Seaman placed on board by the water police today 11 am, on my coming I found that he had refused to go to work. I then sent for him, and asked him whether he would work or not. He said I cant work without clothes. I told him that I would not get him any here and he refused to work. Put him in irons and confined him in the Cabin.

Monday 12 Jany 1863 Callao William Lough Seaman being off duty sick on inquiry found that he had fallen down into the hold the night before at about 11 o'clock he being nearly drunk at the time.

Sunday 25th Jany 1863 10 am Callao William Harvey 2nd Mate went ashore in the market boat and returned at 8.30 am drunk, on being told by the Master to go to his room he answered kiss my a - - e on being told he was drunk he told the Master he was a liar and refused to go to his room called the assistance of the 1st Mate and put him in irons and confined him to his room where he commenced to beat the door and attempted to break it open removed him from there and put him into the fore Cabin from which he got out by breaking through a window and went about the deck using abusive and insolent language to the Master and Mate Sent on board of H.M.P Chyrabdid for a boats crew and officer who came on board and confined him in the fore Cabin with both legs and hands in irons.

I was sent on board the "Erin go Bragh" by Capt Hobbs. G.D. Keane(?) to inquire about Mr W Harvey (2nd Mate) and found him to be drunk and very obstreperous and abusive so had him put in irons in the Fore Cabin.

N.B.--Every entry in this Log Book required by the Act must be signed by the Master and by the Mate or some other of the Crew; and every entry of illness (?) infirmary, or death must also be signed by the Surgeon or Medical Practitioner on board (if any); and every entry of wages due to, or of the sale of the effects of, any Seaman or Apprentice who has died must be signed by the Master and by the Mate and some other member of the crew; and every entry of wages due to any Seaman who enters Her Majesty's Service must be signed by the Master and by the Seaman or by the Officer authorised to receive the Seaman into such service.
