Missing in Action, according to a
notification from the war department, Pvt. Gerald Blackmer 22, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Blackmer, of St. Charles, RD 2, apparently was in
the thick of the fighting in the Phillllllippines. Pvt. Balckmer
enlisted in February 1941 and was with the coast artillery on
Corregidor. The Blackmers have three other sons and four daughters.
