John Newton Goff (131), born April 1850 in Sewickly, Allegheny
County, Pennsylvania, a son of Philo
Goff (58) and Prudence Marie Brown (76). John married Sarah Elizabeth Eberle (342) and together they had five children: Alonzo Joy (344), born in 1885; Mary Louise Hutchison (343), born about 1888; William (1294); Fred (1295) and one other. John Newton Goff was the first
station agent appointed on the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie railroad.
When the first Pittsburgh
& Lake Erie station was erected at Shousetown he was appointed
the agent there. He was a cripple for
the last several years of his life. He had an operation a week
before his death from which he never recovered. John Newton Goff
died at Coraopolis, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania on Friday,
29 September 1899.
