Funeral services for Jack Wheat, Amarillo plumber, were held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in Blackburn-Shaw Memorial Chapel. Rev. Hubert Thomson of the San Jacinto Methodist Church officiated . Burial is in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Wheat, whose home was at 106 Forrest, died of a heart attack en route to Northwest Texas Hospital after he was stricken while working at a home at 31 Belleview. He had been an Amarillo resident since 1919.

Among survivors are his wife, Mrs. Maud Wheat, two sons, Ralph and Hardy Wheat, and five daughters. They are Mrs. Lorna Taylor, Sweetwater; Mrs Ruth Friou, Los Angeles; Mrs. Rella Burnham, Seattle; Mrs. Mildred Sorenson, Garrison, Utah; and Mrs. Betty Jane Hubin, Brownton, Minn. He also leaves two brothers, Jewell and Ed Wheat, Odessa; three sisters, Mrs. Ammie Burleson, Pasadena, Cal; Mrs. Nellie Crume of New Mexico and Mrs. Lillie Booth, Antioch, Cal.
