Will of Calhoun Isham Lansford

I Isham Lansford Senr. of Pittsylvania County, do make this my last W illand
testement, in manner of form following that is to say:
First I leave and loan to my wife Mary the whole and every part of m yestate
both real and persopnal during life. She paying my just debts free fr om
restrictions and free from being appraised or any account whatever be ingtaken: and at the death of my wife, I loan to my son Elijah Lansf ordduring his life my nergo man Bob and at his death to be divided a monghis children if he should have any and if none to return to my e stateand out of his value my daughter Polley Harris and her heirs t o havefifty dollars and at the death of my said wife I will loan m y land asfollowsth on the west side of the Ridge Road I leave to Eli jah and mytwo sons to tbe divided as follows. Beginning at the for k of the roadand running down the bottom to Farrards cornor than u p that hollow tothe top of the Ridge and then down next hollow to th e branch and downthe branch to the creek and crossing the creek to J ohn Willhers line. Myson Elijah to take that part my buildings, an d Simon the other and onthe East side of said Ridge road I give my t wo sons Permansas and Isham,they to divide as the may think and at t he death of my said wife I giveone dollar to each of my grandchildre n, heirs of Thomas Lansford, andalso to each of my grandchildren, he irs of my daughter Elizabeth BurtonI give also the dollar, the balan ce of my estate my will is that itshall be equally divided between m y sons Henry, Lamuel, Permanas, Isham,Elijah and Simeon and my daugh ters, Dolly Mahon and Polly Harris andlastly I leave my son Permenea s Lansford and my son in law, Doctor Mahonmy executors to this las t will In testimory whereof I have hereto setmy hand and seal thi s 13th December 1826.

At a Court of Charcerly sessions continued and held for Pittsylvani aCounty,
Virginia the 21st day of August 1827. This last will and testment o fLansford
decsd was exhibited in court and proved by the oath of one subscribin gwitness and ordered to be recorded and on the motion of Parmenas Lansford one of the excutors therein named who made oath thereto accord ingto law certificate is granted to him for obtaining a probate of t he saidwill in due form so far as relates to the personal estate o f the saiddecedant and giving security whereupon he together with Be njaminWatkins, James Vance, and Pryor Reynolds his securities entere d into andacknowledged bond in the penalty of $4000.00 conditience i nto andacknowledged bond in the penalty of $4000.00 the law direct s andafterwards to wit at a court held for said county the 13th da y ofOctober in the year aforesaid the same was again presented in Co urt andfuther proved by the oath of one other subscribing witness.

The Bible was handed down from Isham Lansford Sr. to his son, Parmena sLansford to his son, Isham Monroe Lansford to his son, Maurice Luci usLansford to his son, Wallace M. Lansford.

Isham Lansford son of Henry Lansford and Cathrine his wife was born December
22, 1752. Mary Lansford his wife was born February 14, 1758 and marri edJuly 11, 1776.
Children: Henry Lansford born December 6, 1777
Thomas Lansford born January 2, 1780
Lemuel Lansford born March 21, 1782
John Lansford born February 6, 1784
Elizabeth Lansford born January 7, 1786
Parmenas Lansford born May 16, 1790
Isham Lansford born May 31, 1792
Simeon Lansford born September 13, 1801

I do not know why Dolly and Polly are not in the Bible, as they are listed in
Isham's will.
