DAVID B. KNOWLES
A public visitation for David B. Knowles, 36, will be held today from
5-7 p.m. at Kehl's Forest Lawn Mortuary. He died Nov. 10. Mr.
Knowles was born April 13, 1949, in Virginia and came to Alaska in
1969 where he was self-employed as a contractor. He was an avid
reader, loved building and the great outdoors Alaska had to offer.
He was a member of the Elk's Local 1351 in Anchorage. Survivors are
his wife, Carolyn Knowles; two daughters, Margaret and Kathryn
Knowles, all of Eagle River; his father and stepmother, Roy and Ann
Knowles, both of Virginia; his mother and stepfather, Eleandor and
Tom Young, also of Virginia; and one sister, Lisa Meadows of Virginia.
Burial will be later in Virginia. Local arrangements by Kehl's Forest
Lawn Mortuary.

Dorman N. Rucker, 52, of Canton, died early Sunday morning in Aultman
Hospital from complications following a brief illness. Born Nov. 1,
1919, in Belington, W. Va., he was a son of Jack and Littia Carpenter
Rucker. He had been a resident of the Canton area since 1939. A
veteran of World War II he served as a sergeant in the Army Air Force
Medical Corp. Mr. Rucker was a 32-year employe of the Berger Division
of Republic Steel Corp. He was a member of the Lighthouse Tabernacle
in Penny Heights. Surviving are his widow, Bonnie; one daughter, Miss
Beverly Ann Rucker of the home; two brothers, Archy of Canton and
Charles of Florida; one sister, Mrs. Judy Flagmier of Sandusky, and
a number of other relatives in the Zanesville area. Service will be
held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Chris
Bontrager officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Denny E. German, 70, of Crooksville died following a brief illness at
2 p.m. Monday (Jan 17) at Bethesda Hospital where he had been a
patient since Saturday. Born in Logan, July 17, 1895, he was the
son of Dell and Anna Ross German. An employe of Tycer Pottery in
Roseville, he was a member of Crooksville First Methodist Church
and a veteran of World War 1. Surviving are a son, Wallace German
of Crooksville, a sister, Mrs. Beulah Thompson of Roseville; and
three grandchildren. The body was taken to Fred L. Cannon and Sons
Funeral Home in Crooskville where friends may call after 7 p.m.
today. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral
home with Rev. Ralph Tucker officiating. Burial will be in
Crooksville Cemetery.
his WWI draft card states Crooksville as his birthplace.
