"...later married a Mrs. Hannah Powell. She signed his death certificate and stated that his father was "Savage born in Ireland" and his mother was "Eisnagle born in Pennsylvania"

I was pretty sure his father was James Savage (born in Virginia) and his grandfather was George Savage (born in Ireland). Now that I think about it, I didn't have anything other than timing and location to link him. I've left Samuel and descendents in the database, but disconnected the link to him and James Savage until I find more data to clarify any relationship.

Ex-Letter Carrier at Dresden Dies
William W. Hittle, 81, of South Main street, Dresden, died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Twilight Nursing Home at Dresden, where he was admitted Jan. 26. he had been ill since last October. Mrs. Hittle retired as a Dresden mail carrier in 1947. He was a member of Dresden Methodist Church. Modern Woodmen of Zanesville and the Rural letter Carriers Association. Born near Adamsville Oct 27 1880, he was a son of George and Lucinda Stotts Hittle and had lived in Dresden about 40 years. Surviving are his widow, the former Edan Mae Beatty; a son, Ralph L. Hittle of Dresden Route 2; a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Stafford of Dresden, three grandchildren; and a brother, Albert Hittle of Zanesville Route 5. Two brothers and a sister are deceased. Friends may call at Baughman and Sons Funeral Home in Dresden from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
