Crooksville Woman Dies in Canada
Mrs. Ruby Shockley, 62, of Crooksville, died suddenly at 5 a.m. Wednesday of a heart attack at a fishing lodge 120 miles north of Sudbury, Ont., according to word received here. Mrs. Shockley had gone to the lodge about a week ago with Mr. and MRs. Rex Allen and Mrs. Henry Frericks, all of Crooksville. She was the widow of Robert Shockley who died seven years ago. A native of Perry county she was the daughter of Jeptha and Minnie Watts Young. Mrs. Shockley was a member of Starlight chapter, Order of Eastern Star at Crooksville. Surviving are a son, James Alexander of Columbus; a brother, Earl Young, and a sister, Mrs. Leanice Cooper, both of Crooksville, and two grandchildren, Beverly and Johnny Bobb of Columbus. The body is to be brought to the Fred L. Cannon funeral home at Crooksville. The fishing lodge is in a remote section of Ontario and is accessible only by airplane, a spokesman at the funeral home said.
