GOLDTHWAITE - Rose Ellen ''Posey'' Shelton, 89, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, in a Cedar Park nursing home. Service will be at 1 p.m. today in Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home chapel with burial in Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery. Survivors include her son, Wayne Shelton of Cedar Park; daughter Joyce Heddlesten of Round Rock; brother Wayne Perry of Goldthwaite; and sisters Gladys P. Singleton, Willie Curtis and Jerry Perry, all of Goldthwaite, Zona Shank of Grandview and Ann Wright of Gladewater.

Rose Ellen "Pose" Shelton of Goldthwaite, Texas, died Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at New Hope Manor Nursing Center, Cedar Park, Texas. She was 89 years of age and had lived in Goldthwaite most of her life. Mrs. Shelton was born August 27, 1916 at Goldthwaite, Texas, the daughter of Garland T. and Betty Myrtle (McGowan) Perry. She married Oliver Preston "O.P." Shelton on December 23, 1933 at Mullin, Texas. She was affiliated with the Church of Christ. During World War II she worked at Consolidated Bombler Plane as a riveter and a homemaker. After the war, they moved back to Goldthwaite where they opened a Automotive Garage and Service Station. Mrs. Shelton was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one sister, Ellis Shelton, four brothers, Ralph Perry, Gorman Perry, Sherman perry, and Eamon Perry; one great grandchild and one great great grandchild. Survivors are one won, Wayne Shelton of Cedar Park, one daughter, Joyce Heddleston of Round Rock; 10 grandchildren, Micheal Shelton, Travis Shelton, Bradley Shelton, Deborah Heddleston, Fran Chandler, Trina Dee, Brian Heddleston, Troy Heddleston, and Ronda Maraisl; 14 great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Wayne Perry of Goldthwaite and five sisters, Gladys P. Singleton, Willie Curtis and Jerry Perry, all of Goldthwaite, Zona Shank of Grandview, and Ann Wright of Gladewater. The funeral was Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home Chapel in Goldthwaite with Bro. Jack Vaughn, minister of the Assembly of God Church in Goldthwaite, officiating. Interment was in the Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery, Goldthwaite, Mills County, Texas. Pallbearers were Michael Shelton, Travis Shelton, Bradley Shelton, Troy Heddlesten, Brian Keith Heddleston, adn Brandon Heddleston. Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home, Goldthwaite, was in charge of arrangements.
