ZANESVILLE - Rita Joann Hittle, 55, of Dresden, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, at the Autumn Health Care Center. She was born June 22, 1932, in Zanesville, the daughter of Mark and Edna Kramer Berry. She graduated from St. Nicholas High School and was a homemaker who loved her family. She was a sitter to the young and a caregiver to the old, relative or not, and didn't need to be seen or heard, you just always knew she was there. Rita was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Rita is survived by her loving husband, Leslie Zane Hittle of Dresden; a son, William (Heather) Hittle of Dresden; two daughters, Bethany A. Hittle of Gibsonia, Pa., and Tamara Hittle of Zanesville; a sister, Nancy Thomas of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Malissa (Randy) Wilson, Klare Hittle and Wolfgang Hittle; and one great-grandchild, Rayne Wilson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Hittle. Calling hours will begin at 3 p.m. with funeral services at 5 p.m. today, Nov. 25, 2008, at The Snouffer Funeral Home, 1150 W. Military Road. The Rev. Tim Patton will officiate. A cremation will take place according to Rita's wishes. In lieu of flowers contribution envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
