Moxahala Ave. Woman Dies After Long Illness
Mrs. Florence E. Savage of 635 Moxahala avenue, whose husband Pearl E, is a retired bus driver died at 6 p.m. Saturday in Bethesda Hospital, where she was admitted Wednesday. Mrs. Savage had been in failing health but her condition did not become serious until just before she was admitted to the hospital. She was born in Lowell, a daughter of Isaac and Lucinda Long Cowell, but had lived in Zanesville for 52 years. She was a member of Central Trinity Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Major Paul L. Savage of Army arsenal at Joliet, Ill: two brothers, Osmar Cowell of Athens and Grover of Caldwell; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Willson of Canton; a grandson, Eric Savage, and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, James C. and Lloyd Cowell, preceded her in death. The body was removed to the DeLong and Baker Funeral Home where friends may call after 6 o'clock this evening and where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. H. M. Carpenter will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn.

Christopher Daniel Longley, 27, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, at the home of his parents after a 4 1/2 year battle with Sarcoma. Chris was born in Chattanooga and was a graduate of Baylor School having been on their varsity baseball team. Chris graduated from Clemson University with a B.S. in accounting and a B.S. in finance. He had been a resident of Charlotte, N.C., for several years. He was currently employed with Pro Sports Management and Marketing in Charlotte as manager of marketing services. He was previously employed as a CPA with Price, Waterhouse, Coopers. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. He is survived by his wife, Kristin Campbell Longley, and one son, Connor Daniel Longley, both of Charlotte; his parents, Mark Smith and Mardi Conway Longley, of Signal Mountain; two brothers, Carrick Thomas (Melissa) Longley, of Camp LeJeune, N.C., and Carlin Mark Longley, of Signal Mountain; his grandmother, Xenia Conway, of Signal Mountain; several aunts, uncles and cousins and one nephew, Benjamin Longley. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. in St. Paul's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Ben Nelson officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church and interment at Chattanooga Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Adam Hermansen, Matt Barrett, Keith Katona, Ray Gary, Trent Douglas and Jonathan Panter. Memorial contributions may be made to Lance Armstrong Foundation, National Mail Processing Center, P.O. Box 6003, Albert Lee, MN 56007-6603. Arrangements are by J. Avery Bryan Funeral Home Inc.
