League City -- Dan Grady Wood, 60, died Monday at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston. Services will be at 2 PM Thursday at Jack Rowe Funeral Home in League City, the Rev. Jesse M. Harris Officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery. Visitation will be after noon today at the funeral home. Born Nov. 19, 1927 in Texas City; Mr. Wood was a retired PBX installer of AT&T. He was a member of the League City United Methodist Church, lived in League City for 36 years and served in the US Army in 1950. Survivors include his wife, Jean Wood of League City; three sons, Timothy Dan Wood of Webster; Joel Longley Wood of League City and Jeff Butler Wood of Santa Maria, CA; a daughter , Ginger Ann Saxman of Santa Maria, CA; three brothers, Clarence J. Wood and William F. Wood, both of Shreveport, LA; and John G. Wood of Bellaire; a sister Lillian Lothrop of League City and three grandchildren. Pallbearers will be H. H. Medsger, Johnny T. Smith, Steve Chuoke, Frank Owens, Jack Knight, Eric Stauffer, Wilbur Stauffer and Mike Deckard.

Oscar Jones of Breesport died Friday morning, Feb. 14, 1936, after an extended illness. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Maude Wickham of Upper Lake road and Mrs. Addie M. MacDowall of Elmira; a son, Charles Jones of Elmira Heights; six grandchildren. the body is in the Mathews & Van Buskirk funeral home, where funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. Burial in Scotchtown Cemetery.
