George W. Steffey Dies on Ridge Avenue
George W. Steffey, 83, who spent practically his entire life at Coal
Run, Washington county, died at 9 o'clock Thursday morning at the
home of a daughter, Mrs. George F. Beebe, 1917 Ridge avenue, following
an illness from complications. He had lived in this city for the past
two years. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Beebe, at whose home he
died, and Mrs. Lawrence McNerney, Spangler drive; one son, David, of
New Orleans, and three sisters, Mrs. Clark Hill, Corning; Mrs. Joseph
Hague, Sencacaville, and Mrs. Angeline Wetherbe, Hamilton, Kas. The
body will be removed Friday morning to the Beebe residence from Dean
funeral home.

Pneumonia Fatal to Maude Israel Tuesday Morning.
Mrs. Maude C. Isreal, 47, East Indiana street, died at 3:24 o'clock
on Monday morning following a short illness of pneumonia. She was
survived by her husband, William Isreal; a daughter, Mrs. Florence
Oswald, West Main street; two sons, Harry and Leonard Hooper,
Virginia street; her mother, Mrs. Mary Bowers, East Virginia street;
two brothers, Arther Bowers, Akron; Ulysses Bowers, Blandy avenue,
and two grandchildren. Mrs. Isreal was a devout member of St.
Nicholas church, and was well known in this city. The body was taken
to G. A. Keck funeral home, from where it will be reomved to the home
of the sons late Wednesday.

Mrs. Maude Israel Dies of Pneumonia
A brief illness from pneumonia caused the death of Mrs. Maude C.
Israel, 47, of East Indiana street, early Tuesday morning in Good
Samaritan hospital. She was a member of the St. Nicholas church and
is survived by her husband, William Israel, at home; one daughter,
Mrs. Florence Oswald, of West Main street; Harry and Leonard Hooper
of the home; her mother, Mrs. Mary Bowers, at home; two brothers,
Arthur Bowers, of Akron, and Ulysses Bowers, of Blandy avenue, and
one sister, Mrs. G. E. Damuth, of 25 East Virginia street. Four
grandchildren also survive. The body was removed to the Keck funeral
home but was taken to the home of the sister, Mrs. G. E. Damuth, East
Virginia street, Tuesday evening. Funeral services will be held at 9
o'clock Thursday morning at St. Nicholas church with interment in
Woodlawn cemetery.

Frank Brown Akers Jr., 62, formerly of Fairview Park, died Thursday
in California after a lengthy illness. He was executive
vice-president of Intrusion-Prepakt Inc., Cleveland, for 44 years.
He is survived by his mother, Lura, his wife Kathryn (nee Brown);
sons, Frank Brown Akers, III and Berry J. Akers; daughters, Tracy
Akers of Kodiak, Alaska, Kathry Anders (Mrs. David) McCartney of
Harford Conn. and Mary Elizabeth Akers of Omaha, Neb; and four
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank B.
Akers, Sr. Funeral services will be Wednesday at the Corrigan
Funeral Hom, Lorain Ave. at W. 208 St. in Fairview Park at 1 p.m.
Burial will be at Holy cross Cemetery, 150th and Brookpark Rd.,
Cleveland. The family will receive friends Tuesday 3-5 p.m. and
7-9 p.m.
