George Savage is Taken From Life
A lingering illness ressulted in the death of George Savage, well known resident of McLuney, Perry county, which occurred at his home there Sunday afternoon. The funeral will be held at the home at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon and burial will be made in the Iliff cemetery. Mr. Savage was a member of the Iliff church and is survived by his wife and three children; Mrs. T. L. Conoway, Crooksville, Mrs. B. E. Blackburn, Zanesville, and Orla Savage, at home.

Lawrence E. (Larry) Paulin, 85, of Salem, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2005. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Conner Paulin; and brothers, Raymond and Edward Paulin. Larry was a talented trumpet player and for many years played for several jazz and big bands. Surviving are his sons, Philip E. Paulin and wife, Amy of Dublin, Ohio, Kenneth R. Paulin of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; daughters, Suzanne P. Aldridge and husband, William of Matthews, N.C., Catherine A. Paulin, Rita P. Lewis and husband, Dave, all of Roanoke; grandchildren, Emily Lewis, Kelly Paulin and Ben Paulin; sisters, Betty J. Grubb of Stewartsville, Doris P. Adams, of Jacksonville, Fla. A prayer service will be conducted 2:30 p.m., Monday, January 24, 2005, at Simpson Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, 366-0707.
