AGED RIVER MAN CALLED BY DEATH
J. H. Longley, Formerly of Philo, Dies at Home of Son - 100 Years Old
John H. Longley, aged 100 years, one of the best known rivermen along the Muskingum, and formerly of Philo, died at the home of his son, Samuel C. Longley, in Nelsonville, Thursday, according to a message to a relative in Philo. He left Philo about 30 years ago and previous to that time had much to do with construction work along the river. On July 29, last, he observed his 100th birthday anniversary. He leaves two daughters and one son, Mrs. Louise Steenrod, Mrs. Laura Spencer and Samuel of the home.
