ZANESVILLE -- Chester R. "Junior" Gladman Jr., 78, of Zanesville, died at 3:50 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2006, at his residence. He was born March 8, 1928, in Zanesville, and was the son of the late Chester R. and Grace Hunter Gladman Sr. He retired from Grief Bros. with 35 years of service and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, gardening, music and golf. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn R. "Becky" Chambers Gladman, whom he married Jan. 28, 1950; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Ed Archibald of Cambridge; three grandchildren, Alisha, Nicholas and Kari Archibald; brothers, Donald (Jill) Gladman of Zanesville and Robert (Glenna) Gladman of Dresden; sisters, Mary Hardy, Helen Tilley and Betty Tilley, all of Zanesville; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Gladman of Zanesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Danny Eugene Gladman and a brother, Raymond Gladman. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at the Bryan Funeral home, 2318 Maple Ave. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2006, at the funeral home, with Pastor Steve Smith officiating. Committal services will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
