CYRIL - Funeral for Donny Paul Meason, 54, Cyril, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Cyril High School Gym. Mr. Meason died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, in Anadarko. Burial will be at Celestial Gardens Cemetery under direction of McRay's Cyril Funeral Home. He was born Jan. 20, 1948, in Texon, Texas, to Charlie Samuel Meason Jr. and Doris Longley Meason. He grew up in Gould and graduated from Gould High School. He attended Cameron University on a baseball scholarship, and graduated in 1971 with a degree in physical education/history. He married Kathy Jennings on Sept. 10, 1968, in Wellington, Texas. He taught and coached at Verden High School from 1971 to 1975. He moved to Cyril in 1975 and taught history and coached girl's basketball. He became the Cyril High School principal in 1980. He received a master's degree in administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1994. He retired in 2001 after 21 years, and worked for Cement Public Schools as an administrator. He was the director of Cobra Fisherman's Choice, southern division, for the past two years. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter, Marcy Lowery, Lawton; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lea Meason, Elgin; two grandsons: Sean Paul Lowery and Dawson Grant Lowery, both of Lawton; a brother, Mark Meason, Geronimo; and many family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carolyn Sue Cleaton.
