Mrs. Rhea Belle Baxter, 89, of the Homewood Retirement Center, Frederick, died Monday morning, July 25, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Dr. Joseph Murray Baxter, who predeceased her in 1975. Born at Gratiot, Mich., Nov. 14, 1898, Mrs. Baxter was a daughter of the late Horace E. and Cora A. Baum Longley. Surviving is one nephew, Clarence E. Buckley of Denver, Colo.; a grandiece, Mrs. Ann Zuniga of Silver Spring. Mrs. Baxter is also remembered by a friend, Mrs. Marguerite W. Broaddus of Washington, D.C. She was the last of her immediate family. Funeral services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorials be sent to St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 116 E. Second St., Frederick, Md. 21701. The Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., is in charge of arrangements.
