Thomas W. Randolph, son of Job and Ann Randolph, was born in Oblong township, Crawford county, April 10, 1861, and died at his home in Oblong May 4, 1932, aged 74 years and 25 days. He was united in marriage to Margaret Wilson on July 16, 1882. To this union were born three sons and two daughters, one son dying in infancy. He leaves to mourn their loss two daughters, Oma Granby of Oblong, and Versa Wakefield of Robinson, two sons, Roy and Ernest of Oblong, two sisters Mrs. Marion Drake of Oblong and Mrs. William Kirk of Olney, one uncle G. P. Brent of Oblong.

Walter Ogg, 62, of New Lexington, a Marine veteran of World War 1, died at 2:05 p.m. Monday at Good Samaritan Hospital where he had been a patient five days. Born Dec 26, 1899, near Crooksville, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M Ogg. He resided 24 years in New Lexington where he was employed as body shop foreman for Shelton Motors Company. Surviving are his widow, Edna Pearl of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Roy Ferry of Setauket, Long Island, N.Y.; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. William Talbot of Crooksville; a brother, Kenneth of McConnelsville. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at Chute-Belford Funeral Home at New Lexington where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. L. J. Rhodeback will officiate and burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

DRAKESVILLE - Kenneth O. Hunter, 98, formerly of 14249 118th St., Drakesville, died at 12:20 p.m. Feb. 18, 2007 at Vista Woods Care Center. He was born Jan. 8, 1909 in rural Davis County to Laris and Austa Fleming Hunter. He married Lily Ester Herteen, on their birthdays, Jan. 8, 1934 in Moulton. She preceded him in death Nov. 3, 1999. Kenneth attended school in Davis County and business college in Chicago, Ill. He served two terms as Supervisor for Davis County in the 1950s and also served on the Davis County Fair Board, Davis County Conservation Board and as a board member and Elder for the Ash Grove Christian Church. In the 1930s he was a participant in the Civilian Conservation Corps Program that constructed Lake Wapello. Kenneth retired as a Supervisor from the Barker Poultry Equipment Co. in Ottumwa in the early '70s. He enjoyed traveling with his wife throughout the U.S. and Canada, annual camping at the State Fair, and having relatives stay for visits on the Hunter Century family farm. A good man will be missed by family and friends. Kenneth is survived by his children, Carroll (Wanda) of Carlisle, Larry (Valerie) of Parker, Colo., Stanley (Lucy) of Yuma, Ariz., Stewart of Fremont, Gene (Carolyn) of Drakesville, and Joan (Dan) Goode of Foley, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Dottla Johnson, Gerata Irelan and Thelma Hunter; and a grandson. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Memorials may be made to Hopewell Cemetery.
