Elizabeth Longley Kelly, 96, a resident of Annapolis for 79 years, died of natural causes Jan 4 at the Heritage Harbour Health and Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness. Mrs. Kelly was born Jan. 23, 1908, in Washington D.C. A homemaker, she enjoyed volunteering at schools attended by her children, serving as homeroom mother and being active in the PTA. She held numerous leadership positions at Eastport Methodist Church and the Order of the Easter Star Chapter 46. She was a charter of the "Dirty Dozen" an Eastport senior citizens group, and the Primetimers. In addition to her church and family, her interests included playing parlor games, singing and suppers with friends. In 1926 she married Harvey C. Kelly, who died in 1982. Her son, Harvey E. Kelly, died in 1981. She was the sister of the late James, Elmer and Lydia Longley. Surviving are one son, Thomas L Kelly of Pell City, Ala.; five grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. A memorial gathering will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon Monday at Eastport United Methodist Church, with services at noon. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial gardens. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Eastport United Methodist Church, 926 Bay ridge Ave., Annapolis, MD 21403.

Funeral services for Elwood E Pitts, 61, resident of near Chandlersville who died from a heart attack Saturday morning on a Pine street bus, will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Chandlersville Presbyterian church, with Rev N C Carpenter of the First Church of Christ, this city, officiating. Burial will be at Chandlersville. The body which is at Hearing funeral home, will be removed this morning to the residence of a daughter, Mrs. H. T. Moore, 743 Echo avenue, and on Monday morning will be taken to the home near Chandlersville. Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. Moore, five sons, Carl Warren, Orville, Fred and Harold Pitts, all of Chandlersville; two brothers, Samuel of Smithton, Mo., and Fred Pitts, Zanesville, and four sisters, Mrs. Pearl Denison, Mrs. Josephine Pearson and Mrs. Alpha Davis, Chandlersville, and Mrs. Herbert Taylor, Norwich.
