ICE, DOYCE KENNETH, Was born on October 19, 1930 in the countryside of Montague County on land his great-grandfather settled in 1880. He passed into the arms of our Lord and Savior at 4:00a.m., Thursday October 6, 2005 in a Dallas Hospital. He is preceded in death by his mother, Para Lea Ice, father, Leonard Blooming Ice, sister, Margie Ice and brother, Calvin Ice. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Ingram Ice, daughter Catherine Annette Ice of Tampa, Florida, daughter Rhonda Ice Adams and husband Bob of Garland, granddaughters, Aubrey, Brianna and Autumn Joy Adams of Garland. He resided in Montague County until moving to Garland where he began working for Kraft Foods in 1949 as a part of the initial plant "start-up." He retired from Kraft Foods in June of 1993. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Garland since 1949. His love for the countryside of Montague County never left his heart. Upon moving to Garland, he continued ranching in Montague County until his diagnosis with amyloidosis in the fall of 2004. He was a man of strong character and faith, a man on whose word you could depend. Doyce was a devoted husband and a loving father with a dry sense of wit. Funeral services will be held at 10:00a.m., Saturday, October 8, 2005 in Cockrell Hill Chapel at Firsts Baptist Church of Garland, Rev. Greg Ammons will officiate. Burial will follow at 2:00p.m. at Center Point Cemetery off Hwy. 82 in Montague County, C. E. Cole will officiate. Visitation will be held at Williams Funeral Home, 1600 S. Garland Ave., in Garland from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2005. Services are directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Saint Jo, Texas. McCoy Funeral Home P.O.
