Funeral services for William W. Pitts, 70, of Newark, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, 56 S. Fifth St., Zanesville, with Pastor Doug Winner officiating. Burial will be at Chandlersville Cemetery. William passed away at 2:35 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006, at Arlington Care Center in Newark. Born Sept. 29, 1936, in Chandlersville, William retired from Rockwell after several years of service. Survivors are his loving companion of 27 years, Doris Zonner, of Newark; two sons, Tony Pitts, of Cannelville, and Jeffrey Pitts, of Crooksville; a brother, Fred (Jill) Pitts, of Zanesville; a sister, Margaret Hayes, of Zanesville; and several grandchildren. William was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ruby Tousley Pitts; a brother, Maxwell Pitts; and a brother-in-law, Welcome Hayes. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
