HARRIS Cleo W. Harris, 79, died Monday, November 11, 2002, at his home in Stillwater. He was born June 29th, 1923 to Frank H. and Agnes (Watt) Harris in Lincoln County. He graduated from Wellston High School in 1941. He served in the Marines from 1942-1943. He married Donna West in Wellston, OK, on June 29, 1944. Harris worked for Coca-Cola from 1943 to 1949. He owned and operated the Harris-Phillips 66 service station in Stillwater from 1949 until his retirement in 1985. A longtime Christian, he had been a member of First United Methodist Church in Stillwater since 1946, serving in numerous capacities. His hobbies included his garden, fish ponds, and outdoor activities. His family and friends will miss his hugs and remember his singing and laughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Marie Stanfield of Chandler; brother Cecil Harris of Indiatlantic, Florida; daughter Patricia Schroeder of Tulsa. In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by son, Keith Harris and wife, Gayle, of Stillwater and their children, Autumn Peeper and husband Bill of Syracuse, KS, Quinton Harris and wife Courtney of Perkins, and Caitlin Harris of Stillwater; son, Don Harris and wife, Pam, of Edmond; son-in-law Bob Schroeder and wife, Tess, of Tulsa and their children Jon and Rebecca Schroeder and Emily and Erin Walker of Tulsa. He is also survived by sister Francis Terrel of Chandler, as well as several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Family burial services will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with memorial services at 10:30am Friday, November 15th at the Mehan Union Church in Stillwater. Services are under the direction of Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Payne County American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
