Services for Mildred Deaver of Lovington will be held at 2 p.m. on
Monday at the Smith-Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow
at the Lovington Cemetery, and she will lie in state at the funeral
home on Sunday from 1 to 8 p.m. Mrs. Deaver, 84, died Saturday,
June 10 at her home. She was born Jan. 19, 1916, in Texas. Mrs.
Deaver was married to Thomas Cecil Deaver, who preceded her in death,
on Dec. 24, 1934, in Muleshoe, Texas. Mrs. Deaver was a member of
the Third and Central Church of Christ, Rebecca's Lodge and Katie's
Kitchen Band. Survivors include a son, Cecil Hugh of Lovington; a
daughter, Donnita McGuire of Lovington' four grandchildren; and
numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by her husband and two sons, Thomas Leroy Deaver and Kenneth
Ray Deaver. Memorial contributions may be made to Vista Family
Hospice, 1515 Calle Sur, Hobbs, N.M., 88240.

CROOKSVILLE - Mrs. Pearl Watts, 47, former Crooksville school
teacher, died at 11 o'clock Tuesday night at her home following a
heart attack. Mrs. Watts was the daughter of Hollie and Zella Cannon
and was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses. Her husband, Gerald F.
Watts, underwent a serious operation at the Cleveland Clinic this
morning. Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, Gerald
Watts of Crooksville, and Duane and Donald of the home; a daughter,
Norma of the home; two brothers, Ralph Cannon of Crooksville and
Wesley Cannon of Logan; two sisters, Mrs. Edward Butler of
Crooksville and Mrs. Charles Stephenson of Crooksville; three
half-brothers, Robert, Roy and Lloyd Miller, all of Crooksville;
three half-sisters, Mrs. Eva Brewer, Mrs. Ernestine Baughman and
Mrs. Rozella Green, all of Crooksville, and several nieces and
nephews. The body was romvoed to the Cannon and Cannon funeral home.
