Father: William Henry Hunter
Mother: Mary Myranda Henshaw
Notes:
The Daily Oklahoman, Oklahoma City, January 21, 2005
DANIEL Lois Irene, 81, was born in Covington, OK on June 12, 1923,
to William Henry and Mary Miranda (Henshaw) Hunter. When she was 13,
mom's older brother introduced her to a handsome young man named
Edwin Curtis Daniel. Mom and dad married on December 18, 1940. She
lost the love of her life a little over one month ago December 15,
2004, after almost 64 years of marriage. They just couldn't be
parted for long. For many years, mom was a secretary at Southeast
High School. However, her greatest career was that of devoted wife,
mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She truly loved her
family. Lois was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Curt;
her parents; Bill and Mary Hunter; and four siblings, Bill Hunter,
Marilyn Shiplet, Midge Nay and Ralph Hunter. Mom leaves to cherish
her precious memory; her daughter, Sharon Shaw and husband Dell of
Tuttle; son, Ed Daniel, Jr. of Warr Acres; and son, Don Daniel and
wife Carolyn of OKC. Grandma also leaves five grandchildren, Carrie
Rodgers, Eric Shaw, Kevin Daniel, Greg Shaw, Jeremy Daniel and five
great grandchildren, Jeffrey Shaw, Allyson Shaw, Emily Daniel,
Bailey Daniel and Mia Shaw. Everyone who knew mom knows of her
belief in angels. We know she and dad are walking hand and hand
down golden streets surrounded by a host of heavenly angels. Mom,
we will never forget your beautiful smile, infectious giggle and
gentle touch. You will always be our special angel. Thank you to
Dr. Charles Morgan for giving such wonderful Alzheimer care that
mom still knew and enjoyed her family after so many years. A special
thank you and goodbye to our wonderful family at Rambling Oaks
Courtyard Assisted Living Center for taking such good care of our
parents. You truly have "wings" beneath those shirts. Funeral Service
will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 22, 2004 at Baggerley
South Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Resthaven
Memory Gardens.
