BROGAN, George Robert Sr., (``Bob""), 75, of Salem, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 1998 in Fort Myers, Fla. He was retired from Norfolk & Western Railway, where he worked for 42 years. He was a U.S. Navy submarine service veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, George L. and Eula K. Brogan, and one brother, Joe. He is survived by his wife, Marion Garrett Brogan; four sons and daughters-in-law, George L. (``Bob"") Jr. and Betty Brogan, David L. and Mary Brogan, James L. (``Jimmy"") and Donna Brogan, and Charles R. (``Chuck"") and Bobbie Brogan; one daughter, Susan B. Strong; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two sisters, Margaret Gruner and Ruth Corekin; three brothers, Paul, Bill and Dan, and a host of wonderful friends and relatives. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 12, at the Lotz Salem Chapel, with interment in Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a favorite charity. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Lotz Salem Chapel.
