Noel Baughman Reported Killed
Crooksville, O. - Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Baughman of this city have been
notified by the war department that their son, Pfc. Noel Baughman, is
reported killed in action in the European war theater. He is survived
by his wife and two children. Mr. and Mrs. Baughman have another son
serving with the armed forces in the Pacific war area.

BAUGMAN FUNERAL MONDAY
The body of Pvt. Noel H. Baughman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Baughman
of Crooksville, who was killed in action at Luxemburg, Germany on
February 11, 1945, will arrive at the Cannon and Cannon funeral home
in Crooksville Saturday evening at 7 o'clock. The deceased was a
member of the U.S. Engineers and the bridge on which he was engaged
in construction work at the time of his home has been named in his
honor. Pvt. Baughman is survived by his parents; two sons, David and
Ronnie; a brother, Dale of Crooksville; three sisters, Mrs. Robert
Spence of Akron, Mrs. Richard Reed and Mrs. Theodore Morgan, both of
Crooksville; his grandmother, Mrs. Maggie Brown of Crooksville, and
an aunt, Mrs. Norman Fox of Crooksville Rt. 2. He was a member of
the Crooksville Aerie of Eagles No. 1919, and prior to his enlistment
in the military service was employed at the Ceramic Pottery compay
plant in Crooksville and was a member of Local No. 207, National
Brotherhood of Operative Potters. Military funeral services will be
conducted from the funeral home Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock under
the auspices of the Basil Grimes American Legion Post with Rev. J. E.
Huston, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethern church officiation.

Services for Martha Lee Ward, 91, Sulphur, were held Wednesday, Oct.
20 at 1:00 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Sulphur with Rev.
James Swain officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery under the
direction of Clagg Funeral Home. Born July 10, 1913 in Dougherty to
Ira Pat Allday and Winifred Ira Jones Allday, she died Monday, Oct.
18 at Ada. She married Ulys C. Ward on April 10, 1933 at Ardmore.
He preceded her in death on December 3, 1995. She had lived in this
area all her life and graduated from Sulphur High School. She worked
as a clerk at Green's and James Department Stores in Sulphur and for
27 years was the deputy county assessor for Murray County. She was a
member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter
and son-in-law, Beth and G. O. Philpot, Ada; three sons, Sid and Flo
Ward, Moore, Steve and Mary Ward, Alva, and Terry and Diana Ward,
Oklahoma City; one sister, Edith Braden, Sulphur; five grandchildren
and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
parents and a grandson, Chase Ward Ebeling; three sisters and two
brothers. Pallbearers were G. O. Philpot, Don Braden, Lester Ward,
Scott Ward, Lynn Chambliss and Hank Ward.
