Cooksville, O., July 7 - A message was received by relatives here Monday announcing the death of John Watts, a widely known and highly esteemed resident of Crooksville whose death occurred at the National Soldier's home at Sandusky at an early hour Monday morning. Three brothers, William of East Fultonham; Ralph of Roseville, and Charles of Bellaire, Ohio, survive. The deceased was 56 years of age and a veteran of the Spanish American war and of the U.S. regular army services.. The deceased will be brought here for burial.

Dorothy Pauline Wehnes, 87, of 425 Arlington St., St. Marys, died at 4:47 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys. She was born May 17, 1917, in St. Marys, the daughter of Russell and Marie (Prueter) Hunter. She married Harry Emerick, and he preceded her in death. She then married Russell Wehnes and he too preceded her in death. She is survived by three step-children, Larry Wehnes of St. Marys, Gary Wehnes of Port Haywood, Va.; Deborah Webster of Delphos; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth Hunter of St. Marys. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Arthur, Richard and Howard Hunter; two sisters, Clara Piehl and Edna Wooster; and a step-son, Jerry Wehnes. She was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School and retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in St. Marys, where she had worked for many years. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in St. Marys. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, with the Rev. Bill Maki officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
