Barbara Ann Gillis, age 66, of Coleman, died Saturday, October 22,
2005 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be
held 4:00 p.m. Monday, October 24 in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with
Rev. Daniel Stovall officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman
City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home. She was
born Barbara Ann Knowles on May 28, 1939, a daughter of Foy C. and
Velma Mae Barker Knowles. She grew up in Coleman and graduated from
Coleman High School in 1957. Barbara was a life-long resident of
Coleman and had been employed as a grocery clerk at the Shoppin'
Baskit. She was a member of Concho Baptist Church and Eastern Star.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Kay and Jeff
Heidenheimer of Stamford, Texas; three grandchildren, D'Nae Creel of
San Angelo, Texas, Levi Creel and Shalon Heidenheimer both of
Stamford, Texas; one sister, Lena Wallis of Coleman, Texas;
sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Louella and Grady Boyd of Lake
Brownwood, Texas; one aunt, Eddie Mae Barker of Coleman, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Foy Wayne
Knowles; three sisters, Nellie Boyd, Nancy Thate, Louise Pridemore.
Family visitation will be held on Sunday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
at Stevens Funeral Home.
